1/ The term "clearly noticeable" contained in end item defect descriptions shall be interpreted to mean clearly visible at normal inspection distance (approximately 3 feet).
4.4.3.1 Acceptable quality level. The acceptable quality level (AQL) shall be 0.40 major and 1.5 total (major and minor combined) defects per 100 units (pieces), and the lot shall be unacceptable if one or more critical defects appear in the sample.
4.4.4 Sampling plan D (put-up examination). The examination for put-up shall be in accordance with inspection level S-4 and acceptable quality level (AQL) 4.0 of
MIL-STD-105. The lot size shall be expressed in units of one box each and the unit of product shall be one box. The boxes examined may be from those boxes drawn from
the piece-by-piece examination.
