MIL-W-90490
4.1.2 Certificate of compliance. Where certificates of compliance are submitted, the Government reserves the right to check test such items to determine the validity of the certification.
4.2 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are as classifed in qualify conformance inspection (4.4)
4.3 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified, all tests shall be performed under standard conditions. Except for loop strength, the physical and chemical values
specified in section 3 apply to the average of the determinations made on the sample for test purposes as specified in the applicable test methods of table II. For loop strength, the lots shall be rejected if any single determination is lower than the required minimum.
4.4 Quality conformance inspection. The quality conformance inspection shall consist of sampling plans A, B, C and D.
4.4.1 Sampling plan A (by yard). Sample size shall be 10 yards taken from each 3000 yards, or fraction thereof. A minimum of three samples (30 yards) shall be taken from lots containing 6000 yards, or fraction thereof. Each sample shall be subjected to the following tests: acidity, breaking strength and elongation, melting point of nylon, nonfibrous materials, picks per inch, total ends, weight and width as specified in table II.
4.4.2 Sampling plan B (by pieces). Sample size for the cut webbing shall be one box taken from each 250 boxes, or fraction thereof, of each class of cut pieces. Ten pieces shall be withdrawn at random from each box: five pieces shall be subjected to the loop strength test and five pieces to the cut piece dimension test which includes thickness so seared ends.
4.4.3 Sampling plan C (piece-by-piece examination). The sample unit for this examination shall be one piece. The sample shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, level III. The lot size shall be expressed in units of pieces. An approximately equal number of pieces shall be examined from each box selected for sampling. The number of sample boxes shall be computed as follows:
Number of boxes = Pieces in sample
50
The required number of pieces shall be inspected and visual end item defects classified as listed in table III. All defects found shall be counted regardless of their proximity of each other, except where two or more defects represent a single local condition in the piece, in which case only the more serious defect shall be counted.
