5.1.6 Components.
5.1.6.1 EFTA brackets. Ten inside brackets and ten outside brackets shall
be packaged in plastic bags conforming to type I. or II, style 1, 4 or 5,
minimum thickness 0.004 inch, of PPP-B-26.
5.1.6.2 Side rail bushings, tandem link bushings, or clevis spacers.
Fifty bushings or spacers, of one type only, shall be packaged in plastic
bags conforming to type I or II, style 1, 4 or 5, minimum thickness 0.004
inch, of PPP-B-26 .
5.1.6.3 Extraction bracket lug. Each lug shall be packaged in a plastic
bag conforming to type I or II, style 1, 4 or 5, minimum thickness 0.004
inch, of PPP-B-26.
5.1.6.4 Extraction bracket frame. Each frame shall be packaged in a
plastic bag conforming to type I or II, style 1, 4 or 5, minimum thickness
0.004 inch, of PPP-B-26.
5.1.6.5 Extraction bracket bushings. Two bushings shall be packaged in
plastic bag conforming to type I or II, style 1, 4 or 5, minimum thickness
0.004 inch, of PPP-B-26.
5.1.6.6 Hardware. Hardware shall be presserved in accordance with level A
of PPP-H-1581.
5.2 Packing shall be level A or B, as specified (see 6.2). Note that
packing techniques should assure that steel and aluminum components are not
in contact with each other (corrosive galvanic action occurs between these
two muds). Either top-opening or end-opening style PPP-B-636 boxes
shall be acceptable.
5.2.1 Level A. packing. Items preserved as specified in 5.1, shall be
packed in cleated plywood box conforming to oversees type, style optional, of
PPP-B-601 or a crate conforming to type III, style B of MIL-C-52950.
5.2.2 Level B packing.
5.2.2.1 Main panel and rear panel. Hardware for each component, preserved
as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a fiberboard box conforming to style
FPF, grade V3c, V3s or V4s of PPP-B-636. Inside dimensions of the box shall
be approximately 18 incheS in lenqth, 2 inches in width and 2-7/8 inches in
depth. Each box shall be closed in accordance with method II as specified in
the appendix of PPP-B-636. A corrugated fiberboard spacer having approximate
dimensions of 18 by 2 inches, shall be glued to one side of the box. An
attachment panel constructed from V2s, V3s, or V4s of dimensions
and design cited in figure 1, shall be glued to the other side of the box.
The entire assembly shall be attached to the component as shown in figure 1
